Hungry For More . . .

The Message is as true among you today as when you first heard it. It doesn’t diminish or weaken over time. It’s the same all over the world. The Message bears fruit and gets larger and stronger, just as it has in you. From the very first day you heard and recognized the truth of what God is doing, you’ve been hungry for more.

This is Colossians 1:5-6 from The Message.

If you are a Christian, it’s in your spiritual DNA to hunger for more of Jesus Christ. That hunger can be choked by other pursuits. Even religious pursuits. But that hunger is present. It just needs to be watered a little. Reading a book that reveals Christ . . . or hearing a message where the riches of Christ and the deep things of God are unveiled . . . causes that hunger to be watered and even awakened. It is that very hunger that causes many to seek the experience of the Body of Christ. At bottom, a longing for body life is really a hunger for more of the Lord.

In my observation and experience, if a ministry is not utterly centered upon and revealing Christ in ever-greater depths, it will eventually wear out in your life. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only thing that never wears out. Everything else grows thin eventually . . . and that includes the 1001 religious and spiritual things that Christians chase after today.

Just sayin’ . . .

About a year ago, brother Alan introduced us to “Pagan Christianity”.
That’s when the hunger pangs began. Yesterday we experienced
one of the greatest feasts in our church’s short life. From the wonderful food Ms. Eva prepred to the new song brother Alan
shared, we experienced organic church life. For our young brother
Darien, this was a special night. His prayers for the past eight
months to see his mom attend was a true miracle !! Thank you
Frank Viola and Milt Rodriguez for remaining hungry. The church
body in Fairview, Tennessee are truly hungry for more.

Frank, some plant, some water… but God gives the increase. I thank Him for those ‘stars’ … those ‘messengers’ that He sends to the Church who present Truth… Christ Himself. You’re one of them!
I’m a part of a new group, 7-mos old, that Milt planted and we’re not doing much but building a Foundation and learning to love one another right now. But you know what? We’re all hungry for more of Christ! We all want to KNOW Him. Books and audio messages from brothers like yourselves water / nourish us. I just can’t believe the transformng work the Lord has done in our hearts recently as we’ve laid aside all the “religious practices’ and seek Him only. We’re learning to lay down and die to those 1001 religious and spiritual things we used to chase after! A process to be sure, but when that hunger for Him is allowed to express itself you just can’t get enough of Him. It’s been both an individual and a corporate process as a local expression of His Body comes to life in our town. Thanks for everything, brother!
