Robert is a fellow pizon (he’s Italian like me), and a generous, kind-hearted brother in Christ with a subtle sense of humor. Enjoy the interview, get to know Robert, and check out his Converging Zone Network.
1. tell us how you came to know the Lord.
I grew up in a Catholic Christian home. Both my parents were born and raised in Italy, so Catholicism was a culture, yet Christ and the Bible were lived and taught in the home. So I was discipled into the ways of Christ when I was young. I was thankful to be part of a family that lived in God’s nature. Not perfect, but love was the cherished value, love of God, and love of each other.
2. tell us about your ministry — the different aspects of it.
During my 25 years doing business in corporate America, God began to develop a passion in me for unity in the city of Seattle. Joyce and I were going to an Assembly of God church about 12 years ago and decided to open up our home to a cell group of the church. It grew rapidly from 7 to 60 within 2 months. The unique thing was that we eventually only had 3 remaining from our church, and 9 other churches represented in our group from Baptist to Catholic to charismatic expressions, all coming together “As one”. This was a foretaste of what our ministry would be.
Our ministry, Visionary Advancement Strategies, has always been about bringing people to plumb-line truth. To get over the divisions of traditional, house church, charismatic, or any low level conversations. We pushed the conversation towards the Father loving all of us, and sending a Son who told us, loving Father and loving each other was everything. So we determined that to be our pursuit. We began a newsletter that represented many authors and many expressions. We also began to network with leaders across the globe. Our newsletter and online presence now reach over 100,000 each week.
Converging Zone Network www.convergingzone.com, is in beta phase. We are combining elements of education, business, and social networking into one purposeful place. This will be a place for people to find one another based on what they do, or what their interests are. It is a place for bring your business and products to an ever growing global audience, and it is a place to educate and empower yourself in many different ways.
3. explain why someone would want to be part of the Converging Zone Network (the name of that network you just put together).
Individuals will find a purposeful way to engage, learn, and let others interface relationally and also in ways to create revenue. Ministries can upload their teachings to a global university platform that is shared amongst many networks. Networks themselves have an opportunity to create their own private label network like the Converging Zone, and yet share in databases of other networks and the resources and educational platforms of the other private label networks.
4. what is the cost
Members pay a low cost of $14.95 a month for all services including loading your products and services on the global mall in your own unique store. You can join the free social networking platform if that is all you would like to do. And there are various choices for ministries and private label networks to engage.
5. what do you see happening in the landscape of Christianity over the next 10 years?
I believe we are in a shift that will be more impacting than the reformation of the modern church nearly 500 years ago. The modern church systems will remain at some form just like the Catholic church, but God is making it clear that He is not going to allow any system get in the way of freedom for His people and His Spirit is bringing a resolve in His people of not settling for anything that is not centered on the Father through Christ. Jesus was a Father pleaser, and He taught us to pray to the Father. He was the First born of the manifest sons and daughters of the Living God, and whom we follow in becoming a nation of “Father pleaser” attractive enough, loving enough to bring others back to the Father, and His original intent for humanity.
6. any closing words?
Frank, your work and others continue to have an impact of bringing people back to the one true center, Christ Himself and His eternal Kingdom. When we center on Him, we can work with anyone. When our identity is in Him and not on the poser identities that religion enforce, we can be radically relevant to the communities we serve. In His love, we can become attractive and bring many to the revelation of the Father through Christ.
