The title of this article could also be named “The Two Frank Violas.”
In a previous post, I explained that my childhood dream of being a pitcher in the Major Leagues was fulfilled (unbeknownst to me) by another Frank Viola.
Ever since my early 20s, people have confused this Frank Viola and that Frank Viola.
To prevent any further confusion, here are some things that differentiate us . . .
This Frank Viola has about 1/20th of what’s in that Frank Viola’s bank account.
This Frank Viola writes books and that Frank Viola signs baseballs.
This Frank Viola was born in NJ and that Frank Viola was born in NY.
This Frank Viola doesn’t wear a mustache while that Frank Viola is known for sporting one.
This Frank Viola was a pitcher in high school but that Frank Viola was far better at it.
When people think that this Frank Viola is that Frank Viola, they treat him with much more respect.
In this past, this Frank Viola would sometimes pretend that he was that Frank Viola just to see people’s reactions. (I would tell them the truth later on, of course.)
Finally, this Frank Viola will sign a book for that Frank Viola if that Frank Viola sings a baseball for this Frank Viola.
