I especially liked the article with pastors’ responses to your book. You have hit a chord that many have been wrestling with for a long time. Many authors seems to be on the same page, such as F. LaGard Smith and Neil Cole.
As humans we tend to be pendulum swingers, so I do hope that as a reaction against the institutional Church not too many people will become bitter. I have some friends who never want to go to Church again. I personally fell away from God for about 6 months, still attending church services faithfully. No one noticed. I know I have been bitter, and I’m glad I’m out of it. I can finally look at things and realize what I want to do in my future ministry, praying for God’s guidance that I don’t put trust in my own methods.
It’s not the people within institutional churches that are the problem, it’s the institutional structure itself. Still, something must be done.
Thanks for your contribution and encouragement. I’m reading through Pagan Christianity right now in Red River, NM enjoying the snow.
