Make my life a prayer to You
I wanna do what You want me to
No empty words and no white lies
No token prayers, no compromise
I wanna shine the light You gave
Thru Your Son You sent to save us
From ourselves and our despair
It comforts me to know You’re really there
Chorus
Well I wanna thank You now
For being patient with me
Oh it’s so hard to see
When my eyes are on me
I guess I’ll have to trust
And just believe what You say
Oh you’re coming again
Coming to take me away
I wanna die and let You give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope You gave me
The love that set me free
I wanna tell the world out there
You’re not some fable or fairy tale
That I’ve made up inside my head
You’re God the Son, You’ve risen from the dead
Chorus
Oh I wanna thank You now
For being patient with me
Oh it’s so hard to see
When my eyes are on me
I guess I’ll have to trust
And just believe what You say
Oh you’re coming again
Coming to take me away
I wanna die and let You give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope You gave me
I wanna share the love that set me free

Inspired, again, by the pure and piercing gift of Keith Green whose music openend my heart to rejoicing in the Lord as a 20something and still as a 40something. Inspired, too, by today’s 20somethings who are catching the fire of Christ within them. Journey on in The Way!

Thanks for sharing, I didn’t know Keith Green. Now I’m listening to all the songs I find.
I like “create in me a clean heart”, “easter song” made me feel happy… and “asleep in the Light” really speak to my heart.
That’s great to see how he used he’s talent to glorify Jesus.
Michael
I own this album on LP…I’m going to frame the cover for my office. Keith Green lived such a proactively prophetic life..his biography (also titled “No Compromise”) convicts me every time I read it. Glad to see his message and ministry echoed here.

Saw KG “in concert” when I was in college. It was one of my first-ever experiences with God’s overwhelming (manifest) presence in a tangible way, where while Keith was singing Rushing Wind, I wept and wept and couldn’t stop weeping, sensing the Lord Jesus so near….

Keith Green truly got the true Gospel and it demanded all of his life. May we see Jesus Christ in the same way. And therefore respond to His great love He has shown for us. There will never therefore be a sacrifice to great or small.
” wanna die and let You give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope You gave me
I wanna share the love that set me free”

This song’s been a favorite since my childhood. I especially say to Him, “no empty words..
no token prayers.” Thanks for the reminder.

Beautiful!!! I read every one of the posts from yesterday. I cried through most of them. I don’t have any words to describe how much each one blessed me. To our Father God and His Son Jesus be all the Glory!!!

Great song!!!!
Yesterday’s post finally made me feel old, since it was the first year I don’t qualify as a 20 something!
But it was great hearing from so many young people out there…

Unfortunately the music is blocked in Canada on this website anyway and I can’t listen to it.
I read through every testimony late last night and found it very interesting how they all came to Jesus. About 40% were attracted to Christ because of some aspect of His character. Approximately 20% received either a personal revelation or revelation from being in God’s Word. About 10% through brokenness and miracles of healing. In all of these instances no one else was involved. The rest of them came as a result of a whole lot of different circumstances where others were involved. I would say most of them from what I could read into their testimonies were from some type of church background.
The testimony that sent shivers up my spine was Michaels…the kid that left a life of drugs, sex and porn. Wow, that gives me so much hope that God CAN and DOES rescue those kids who are walking very far away from Him. I’m praying for all these kids but Michael, not a day will go by when I don’t lift you up to the Lord who gave Himself for you. You have my promise.
Just out of curiosity Frank, do you know if the stats have changed in how kids these days come to know the Lord. I’ve read most of George Barna’s books but I don’t ever remember reading anything on that. Anyway that was a very interesting post and a lot of kids responded.
God bless!

Thank you brother for posting this song, I really needed to hear it today and the Lord encouraged me through you! Thanks to all the 20 somethings as well who responded…This 38 year old is very encouraged about the present and future of Christ’s beautiful bride and his Kingdom because of people like you!!! He is truly Matchless, Magnificent, and Indescribable..

I enjoy Keith Green! What’s funny though is that institutional pastors that I know think he stired thinks up and they admire him…but the organized church of the time didn’t admire him. People seem to like revelutionaries only when they pass away, but not when they look them in the face. Thanks for sharing this song:) Frank, I think our generation would love to hear more about the history of the church…I know I love hearing about it:) What happened in the Jesus movement and key players…

“People seem to like revolutionaries only when they pass away, but not when they look them in the face.”
wow.
Thank you.

Keith’s music rocked my world…and does to this day. My wife and I wept through the last chapter of the book “No Compromise” when it first came out.
I love when younger people get a hold of Keith’s music…it just blows them away!
Thanks for posting Frank.

Love Keith Green. I just got into his stuff over the last couple of years. I didn’t think I would dig it very much since it’s not usually my particular style, but his lyrics and spirit are just too Christ-centered and truthful to ignore.

This album touched my husbands life and he turned it around. Our son before he went to be with the Lord loved Keith’s music and would have it on going to sleep. Thanks for posting.

Wow, what a blast from the past!
I think I knew most of his albums off by heart as a very young follower of Jesus. It reminds me of the passion and freedom we enjoyed before we got bogged down with religiosity – thanks God those days are back, hopefully with a little more wisdom and understanding.
Thanks,
Mark 😉
