“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done.'”
~ C.S. Lewis
Lewis’ observation is not only true in the end, but it’s true in this life as well. And it’s true for all human beings, including Christians.
God sometimes releases people to do what they wish, even if it’s to their own destruction.
So don’t be the kind of person to whom God says, “Thy will be done.”
That’s a scary place to be in.

It is really costly to live in a situation where God sais “Thy will be done”. On the other hand, there is such peace and inner joy in praying to God “Thy will be done”, although it’s really a real struggle.

Hi Frank,
It is truly a blessing that someone has received the good news of our Saviour by viewing your post on Facebook or Twitter.
I, on a regular basis, share your blog posts on Fscebook and know that both Facebook and Twitter are amazing tools to spread God’s Word.
God bless you,
Steve

In Barna’s book 7 Tribes of America he identified 2 tribes of Christians. Dr Bill Bright in his writings and teachings also taught about two kinds of Christians. Dr Bright says one kind is led by self and the other is led by Jesus. When I first heard about these and recognized my own life and that self was on the throne, I made a decision that changed the course of my future. I made the choice to move over and let God lead. Although that is ongoing as I must continue to choose day by day, nevertheless, I continue to choose Jesus.

Right on! I just TURNED DOWN A 35K a year job because God said “not MY will.” Back to freelance writing, being a mostly full time mom and wife…but obedience is better than sacrifice! Thanks for the post. Love Lewis.
