Hello Frank.
I liked your book, Insurgence.
We are all suffering because some guy in China ate a bat,
but the Asian Americans who were born and grew up in the US are suffering even more because of racism. Many have been attacked verbally and a few have been spat on. Some kids have been bullied by other kids in the neighborhood. (I am not even Chinese American, but the American public thinks all Asians are Chinese)
People are afraid and they want to find a scapegoat, but we are not the virus.
We need influential persons like you to speak against racism. Would you be willing to talk about racism on your next article or podcast?
Frank Viola
Hi Joe.
Jeffrey and I have spoken against racism numerous times on the Insurgence podcast. And very strongly (as I also did in “Insurgence”).
Why don’t you find those episodes (they are clearly marked) and begin sharing them with those you feel need them. Perhaps one of the best ways to find them is through Podbean: http://insurgence.podbean.com
I’m really sorry you and your friends have been suffering because of this. That’s beyond insane to me.
And yes, I will mention it in my next article. Thanks for the comment.
Joe
Hello Frank
Thanks for your prompt feedback. And I will listen to you former podcasts. Thank you for speaking out against racism. I am reading your book “Reimagining Church” now.
Blessings.

Appreciate your heart Frankie V!! Things are getting more and more off da chain which is leading to a lot of irrationality. God is looking for obedient, steady on followers. Thank you for exhibiting and exhorting that.

It seems your corona humour is catching on. Let’s hope it overtakes the default virus.

Good stuff as always Frank! FYI saying Insurgence Podcast sounds way cooler than saying The Insurgence Podcast.

Cases where “SCREWBALL” might be offensive.
Screwball is a baseball term for a type of pitch. For a right handed pitcher a screwball breaks to the pitchers right instead of left as in a curve ball.
Possibly offensive to the batter in some cases.
The term was adopted in the 40’s and 50’s to describe a type of comedy routine. “Screwball comedy”
Possibly offensive to the comedian but most people laughed at it.
Now used by Frank to describe some types of conspiracy theories.
Possibly offensive to the conspiracy theorists who take themselves too seriously.

Praise God in His Faithfulness, Praise God hallelujah!!
Thank You LORD for Your humble child that keep encouraging us to do and be better and to come to understand better.
Thanks Brother Frank for taking time and time again to sharpen our swords, if so we have one….GOD only knows, amen, but mostly I am thankful for the season of spice that you serve the meal with, may The LORD GOD who is forever Faithful keeps His whole body constantly humbled, ready in season and out of season, and in the fruits of repentance, giving, thanksgiving, forgiveness, faith, hope, love, long suffering, righteousness, thank you all, GOD bless us all in The LORD CHRIST JESUS. Amen.

To the woman who unsubscribed from your email list because you used the word “screwball”: charity is not easily offended or provoked. God would not have us be ignorant either. “Screwball” is also a baseball term, which may be how the word originated.
Frank Viola
Thx. Mark. I addressed the larger problem in this article, but alas, it’s one thing to read. Another to apply.

If you’re still handing out kleenex, I want the lotion kind. In a blue box.
Years ago, someone said “you choose what offends you.” It stuck with me, but the Lord is revealing more than making choices to me through your work and the work of your colleagues mentioned in your blogs. The more would be how to live by “Christ in you”. People Jesus hung out with were offensive to many.
I have been a committed believer for a long time, yet I am just now discovering the concept of the indwelling Christ. It seems to be the vital piece missing from how we express modern Christianity. If we can grasp this, then we understand what Paul meant when he said through Christ he could do all things, meaning learn contentment in all circumstances. Including quarantines, illnesses, and Starbucks shutdowns.
I listened 3 times this week to your latest message on The Deeper Christian Life Network. When you said it is possible for the practice of the presence of God to become automatic, it was very encouraging.
Thank you for your work.
Cindy
Thank you, it’s nice to hear from a level head…
I have beloved friends and relatives buying into conspiracy theories … feeling sad about that.
Mark
Agree on Seinfeld… not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Indeed. It has a certain understated stupidity.
