Welcome to another Thursday UNFILTERED blog post, the only blog that was voted the #1 family blog …… by it’s family. (It counts!)
In the Insurgence Experience (IXP) Mastermind, one of the leaders asked this question: “How do I know the difference between waiting and avoiding?”
I thought it was a great question. Here was my answer, for whatever it’s worth:
When you are waiting on the Lord, you are in an active state of anticipation and a positive frame of trust.
When you are avoiding, however, there is always fear lurking underneath the surface.
You’ve heard the phrase, “follow the money.”
Well, when it comes to avoidance vs. waiting, follow the fear.
There is always fear involved with avoidance.
Waiting puts the responsibility on God because He must act in order for the dream or prayer to come to pass.
Avoiding, however, involves matters where you must take action. So God is waiting on you. (Sometimes, the Lord will lead you to stall before taking action, but in those cases, you’re aware of it.)
In May of this year, I delivered a message on the subject of waiting on the Lord.
You can listen to it HERE on YouTube or any other podcast app. (Just search “The Christ is All podcast.”)
If you find it helpful, share the link with others.
Unfortunately, you must wait until Thursday for my next article. And I shan’t avoid writing it.
Yours in His grace,
fv
