Welcome to another Thursday UNFILTERED blog post, the only blog that uses cool words like vituperative, pusillanimous, mendacious, scabrous, tremulous, vacuous, circuitous, insipidity, and xanthodontic, without being any of those things.
The arc of God’s universe is long, but it bends towards His eternal purpose.
Regrettably, even though I and others have been banging the drum of God’s eternal purpose for years, most Christians still have no idea what it is.
And right now, while America is in crisis, many who understand the divine purpose have lost sight of it, being distracted by an obsession with conspiracy theories and a full-scale enmeshment with the political system.
So what’s needed today is a re-grounding in God’s eternal purpose.
No other book in the New Testament presents the eternal purpose more clearly than Ephesians.
To put it plainly, Ephesians is the high water mark of Scripture. It’s the Mount Everest of the New Testament.
What follows is an outline I created for Ephesians.
This outline is part of a 36-message Master Class called Ephesians in 3D. Some of the audios are on the Christ is All podcast, but the entire set of messages are featured on The Deeper Christian Life Network.
I’ve received more positive remarks from this class from pastors and seminary graduates than any other. Here is one of them:
I have been a member of the network for a year or so and have been greatly blessed. I started off listening to the Ephesians series, listening to most messages 2-3 times. I have been a believer for 37 years, am a seminary graduate (for whatever that is worth), and the Ephesians series is the best book of the Bible series I have ever read or listened to. There was much I had never heard before, and my mind, heart, and soul were brought “into the heavenlies” again and again. I am so thankful. I just finished the Galatians series, and it was excellent as well. I pray for Frank regularly, and thank God for revealing Christ in him.
AN OUTLINE OF EPHESIANS
Major Theme: God’s Eternal Purpose concerning His Son and the ekklesia, which is His Body.
The body of Christ – the new humanity – is joined to Christ in His wealth, His walk, and His warfare.
Section 1: Wealth: The heavenly calling.
The church (ekklesia) has been called to SIT together in heavenly places in Christ.
Chapters 1 – 3
Section 2: Walk: The earthly conduct.
The church is called to WALK in Christ on the earth.
Chapters 4 – 6:9
Section 3: Warfare: The spiritual conflict.
The church is called to STAND firm against the schemes of the devil.
Chapter 6:10-24
The church’s wealth is manifested in her walk and maintained through her warfare.
Three key terms in Ephesians:
Sit – Ephesians 2:6 – points to our wealth and calling.
Walk – Ephesians 4:1 – points to our walk and conduct.
Stand – Ephesians 6:11 – points to our warfare and conflict.
See you next Thursday,
