Welcome to another Thursday UNFILTERED blog post, the only blog that thinks Thanksgiving is overrated.
Today is Thanksgiving in the USA.
Unfortunately, the holiday has become adulterated by gluttony, Alka-Seltzer, watching 10 hours of television sports, and an orgy of rapacious consumerism the next day.
(Speaking of consumerism, buy my books!)
If you didn’t laugh just now, something might be wrong with you.
Anyways, the intention behind Thanksgiving is to be grateful. For the believer, this means being grateful for what God has given us, done for us, and what He’s protected us from.
I’m deeply thankful for many things, and one of them is you.
If it weren’t for you who subscribe to this email list, virtually no one would read my work (which some Christians desperately wish would happen).
Since many of you are occupied with family this weekend, I’m going to feature a short audio rather than an article today.
Every Tuesday an episode of either the Christ is All podcast or the Insurgence podcast drops.
On Tuesday, #147 of the Christ is All podcast was published.
It’s called Ten Years Ahead and maps out some of what I’ve committed myself to over the next decade.
Give it a listen. I think you’ll find it interesting and possibly inspiring.
Until next Thursday,
fv
P.S. If someone wanted to change your life and zealously forced this blog post on you, you can appease them and subscribe here. It’s gratis and comes with a dozen Super Fire Hot Wings … the kind you can only eat after you sign a set of release forms. (No lemon suckers please. They won’t understand the humor.)

My mens group Bible study is working through “The Untold Story,” and I’m super excited about the new revision. I’d like to do it again when the new one comes out, and when it says “Stop and read xxxxx”, then do the Master class series… maybe others in the network would be interested in zoom meeting doing that? Also glad to hear that you are teaming up with Michael Heiser to do the same for the Old Testament! ????

The new edition — which I’m currently working on — will be MUCH better.
When it says “stop and read” – readers will just head to the back of the book to read the NT letters without chapters or verses, as they were in the original.
You are starting a rumor with your last comment, which obviously was a joke.
If Heiser ever reaches out to me with interest, I’ll consider.
