Welcome to another Thursday UNFILTERED blog post, the only blog that likes cottage cheese. It’s better than all other dwelling cheeses (studio apartment cheese, mobile home cheese, etc.). Btw, never eat mobile home cheese in a tornado.
One of the arguments I made in my book From Eternity to Here was that any storyteller who makes good art can’t help but reflect the Story of the Ages.
The hero [Jesus Christ] sacrifices himself to kill the dragon [Satan] in order to get the girl [the bride of Christ].
Within that story is the principle of death and resurrection.
The hero dies during His sacrifice and then rises from the grave.
Even when the artist (storyteller) isn’t aware of it, he/she is echoing the Story of the Ages because it’s written in the bloodstream of the universe.
The Matrix was one such film, but recently I watched Shazam: The Fury of the Gods and there again (if you make it to the end), we see the Story of the Ages reflected.
Good art, therefore, always glorifies God, even if the artist doesn’t know Him yet.
This past May, I met with a group of believers I’ve known for years in a remarkable church-life experience, and we spent three days together recording some of our favorite songs that we regularly sang.
They are songs for the Insurgence, and they express different aspects of God’s Eternal Purpose.
Recently, we put all the recordings on one page along with the lyrics.
More will be added in the coming days (God willing), including my rewritten version of “Stairway to Heaven.” (You can hear the new lyrics to “Stairway” on the CHRIST IS ALL podcast, episode #180.)
So check the page every few months and refresh.
GO HERE TO ACCESS THE “SONGS FOR THE KINGDOM” PAGE.
It contains many innovative songs that communicate God’s timeless purpose.
Also, a reminder for those of you who preach and/or teach, registration just opened for the 2024 Insurgence Experience (IXP) Mastermind. Go to MinistryMind.org for all the details and to apply.
Until next Thursday,
Your brother,
fv
FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO PARTNER WITH THE MINISTRY
Frank doesn’t profit personally from his ministry. He generously sends out a fresh new article every Thursday (there are over 1,000 on the blog). Also, a new podcast episode drops every other Tuesday on his two podcasts (combined there are over 300 episodes). While all of these resources are without cost to you, they require time and money to produce. Therefore, if you would like to donate to help defray the costs and/or express appreciation, there are three ways to donate, all of them simple. Go to the Donations Page for information.
P.S. If someone wanted to change your life and zealously forced this blog post on you, you can appease them and subscribe here. It’s gratis and comes with a dozen Super Fire Hot Wings … the kind you can only eat after you sign a set of release forms. (No lemon suckers please. They won’t understand the humor.)
