This is the best thing I’ve read on what we as Christ-followers should do and not do during this time. Thanks for putting it out there in an informative and thoughtful way.

The CDC numbers lag behind. You have to look at the date tabulations. These come from John Hopkins. They are accurate to what Hopkins has reported.
Now questioning if ANY of these tabulations is accurate to the real/actual numbers is a completely different discussion and one that’s not germane to the guide. As I pointed out in my latest article, NO ONE knows what the real numbers are. See https://www.frankviola.org/2020/05/07/normal/
The point the guide is making (if you read the context) is singular and that is: the exponential growth factor, which is real and doesn’t move, no matter what source you’re using.
Glad you like the Insurgence podcast.

This is a great “survival” guide. Though we have to live here on earth like we have no other home, at the same time, as Jesus followers, and Kingdom of God residents, we must live like we have no home here. I think the greatest hindrance to keeping proper perspective, is fear.

Thanks Ed. Appreciate the kind words.

Thanks Frank for this wonderful assortment of great insights drawn from your variegated, rich experience. May I add two items: Knowing the entire Bible cover to cover over and over again, both Testaments, has anchored me more than anything else. Second, Jesus is a living Person, a man like me. I am invited to know Him personally and intimately. Seeing that Jesus is running the entire cosmos I can report for duty every day. Then it becomes a daily issue if I will trust Him and obey orders. When I do, He lets me in on great secrets. One day at a time. More exciting every day!

Wow! Thanks Frank. The book is brilliant. Full of wit and wisdom and encouragement. It’s a fun read too. Telling all my friends about it.

Hey Frank, This was the best thing I’ve read all day! Thanks for sharing! Jeremy Evans

Frank, as usual, excellent stuff. When you’re funny, you’re funny (and I think this is the funniest I’ve seen you yet), but when you’re serious, you’re Walking Dead serious!
BTW, I quit watching the Dead, as well, but it was after Season 8, which is when I think the series jumped the shark. The war between Rick and Negan dragged on for way too long, IMHO, so I lost interest (I’m a huge fan of apocalyptic and post-apoc lit, BTW, but not for the violence). Digression aside, your insights on community in the show mirror my own. I like looking for hints of Christian, or Biblical, themes in non-Christian literature, especially movies. I believe it’s a great way to connect with non-believers and present the gospel in ways they can understand and process. It’s too bad that so many Christians see the depravity rather than the opportunity.

Glad to hear, Allen. Thank you.

I have laughed out loud, been convicted, yet deeply encouraged by this fantastic script from your pen to my heart. While I’ve read, kept/or passed along most of your books, this article has truly refreshed my heart! I will be passing this on to probably 40-50 of my friends and family hoping that at least one or two will receive at least half of the benefit that this young heart has received!

Thanks Rick. I really appreciate this. May your tribe increase!
