I’m very sad.
Michael Spencer . . . known as the Internet Monk . . . passed away last night. Michael was a friend and an esteemed brother in Christ. He was only in his mid 50s.
I never met Michael face to face. We met through the Internet via his superb blog, and we became instant friends. His articles and podcasts were outstanding. He also took an genuine interest in my work, and was very kind and gracious in reviewing it. I don’t read many blogs, but Michael’s was among my favorites.
A few months back he asked me to endorse his upcoming book, which I gladly did. It’s called Mere Churchianity. Even though it releases in September, it is at this moment ranked 3,800 on Amazon, which is very good. (That’s 3,800 out of 7 million plus books.) I suspect that when it releases, it will break 1,000. The book is among the last things he left those of us who remain on this side of the veil.[Continue Reading…]
